Family Medicine Dr. Niroashan Srikumaran is a family medicine physician passionate about building lasting relationships with patients and helping them achieve their health goals through personalized, patient-centered care. Inspired by his longtime family physician while growing up in Toronto, Canada, he pursued a career in medicine to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families.
Dr. Srikumaran completed his medical education in Manipal, India, and went on to complete his Family Medicine residency at Mercyhealth in Rockford, Illinois. He enjoys caring for patients of all ages and has a special interest in preventive health, nutrition, exercise, mental health, musculoskeletal conditions, and office-based procedures.
He values strong communication and collaboration among healthcare team members and believes the best outcomes result when patients are active partners in their care. During appointments, Dr. Srikumaran strives to listen first, understand each patient’s concerns and goals, and develop treatment plans through shared decision-making.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling, experiencing different cultures, attending sporting events, and appreciating the arts through live theater and comedy. His experiences growing up in a multicultural city and overcoming personal challenges have helped shape his ability to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds with empathy, understanding, and respect.
