Shelli Van Roekel, APRN, is an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care when patients need it most. With nursing experience across medical-surgical, orthopedic, oncology, intensive care, and emergency settings, she brings a broad clinical background and a calm, patient-centered approach to every emergency department visit.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Shelli held a variety of leadership roles, including charge nurse and house supervisor. She enjoys the fast-paced environment of emergency medicine and caring for patients of all ages with a wide range of illnesses and injuries. Her clinical interests include evaluating acute medical conditions, performing procedures, and collaborating with nurses, EMS, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely, evidence-based care.

Shelli chose to practice in a rural community because she values the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and to provide personalized care close to home. She believes the best outcomes stem from open communication and teamwork, and from ensuring that patients and their families feel informed, respected, and involved in decisions throughout their care.

Outside of work, Shelli enjoys spending time with her husband and their five children. Whether camping, boating, swimming, or simply enjoying the outdoors together, family time helps her recharge. She considers raising her five children while building a career in healthcare her greatest accomplishment, an experience that has strengthened her compassion and commitment to caring for others.
